PAMAM Dendrimer
PAMAM
Dendritic polymers containing a large number of surface functional groups can be functionalized according to different application requirements, such as functional groups: -NH2, -OH, -COOCH3, -COOH, -COONa, and other special functional groups.
1. Biomedical Applications: Dendritic polymers possess numerous end-group functional groups and a certain three-dimensional cavity structure. These end groups can be functionally modified, making them excellent carriers for drugs, genes, vaccines, and other bioactive substances. Applications include drug sustained release, targeted drug delivery, in vitro diagnostics, gene therapy, dressings, and antibacterial agents.
2. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging (NMR): Due to their unique structure, dendritic polymers are used in NMR imaging. For example, Gd inclusions can serve as promising contrast agents for paramagnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
3. Personal Care: Through surface functionalization, dendritic polymers can be applied to skincare and personal care products, exhibiting superior water retention, moldability, and adhesion.
4. Catalyst Supports: Their unique spherical structure, controllable nanoscale size, and highly efficient end-group groups enable the production of catalysts with strong catalytic activity.
5. Nanomaterials: As highly efficient dispersants and stabilizers, dendritic polymers are used in the synthesis of metal nanoparticles. They can be used in electronic sensors, nanocomposites, and molecular templates, demonstrating significant application value.
